How can I keep my healing?

The first thing is to admit that you can lose your healing.
It’s vital that you understand that God never places a sickness on you, or puts it back on you. Never blame God for the pain and misery in your life. Since there is no sickness or disease in Heaven, God can’t give you sickness, He doesn’t have it to give.

1. Be sure you get to know Jesus. Ask Him to come into your heart and to forgive you. Many understand the term repentance to mean “turning from sin.” This is not the biblical definition of repentance. In the Bible, the word repent means “to change one’s mind.

Thank You Jesus for loving me and dying on the cross for me
I ask forgiveness for all the things I have done wrong in my life
and all that I have failed to do. I open the door of my heart to receive You as my personal Lord and Saviour. Take my life in Your hand and help me become the person You want me to be. Jesus, I need You and I thank You for Your love for me.

2. Read His Word in the Bible. App: http://www.theholybibleapp.com/
Matthew 22:29 says, Jesus replied, "Your mistake is that you don't know the Scriptures, and you don't know the power of God.”  So if the symptoms try to come back on you just stand your ground and keep in faith and don't allow your physical sense to rule over you, let the Word of God be the final authority. The symptoms are just a shadow of the real thing, but if you accept those symptoms, then the enemy can put the real thing back on you.

3. Resist the enemy. Don’t believe the lies of the enemy: that you never can be forgiven, that it would better if you were to die, that you are unworthy to be healed, or that God doesn’t love or care about you, etc. He will try and make you feel guilty and try to tell you that you are no good and worthless and steal your identity in Christ.
Hold fast to your healing otherwise the enemy will steal it from you, he will try to bring back all the symptoms of the sickness that you were healed from, and if you begin to doubt your healing you will authorize him to put it right back on you. So stand firm and resist the enemy, and if you do so the Bible says that he will flee from you. “Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” James 4:7
Jesus said: "The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly.”  John 10:10
The sign of the enemy is fear – the sign of Jesus is peace.

4. Get your life in line with God’s will.  (Change your life style.)

5. See yourself as healed. (Declare: In Jesus’ name, sickness leave me!)
When God touched you, He sees you perfectly whole–just as He sees you already seated with Him in heavenly places. Don’t let images of the unreal physical world dim your view of the spiritual realm. That’s where reality is.
“We look not at the things which are seen, but the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal”  2 Corinthians 4:18
The opposite of faith is unbelief.

6. Begin speaking your healing with your mouth.
(Say it out loud: I am healed!)
Sometimes when we pray for healing, our situation goes from bad to worse. Sometimes a sharper physical pain can be a sign that healing is taking place. Usually the pain disappears or diminishes after a moment. Or it can be a sign that deliverance is needed from some type of bondage in your life. Spiritual warfare is not about engaging in combat with the enemy who is already defeated - it's about living in the victory of the One (Jesus) who defeated him.“But thanks be to God, which gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ”  1 Cor. 15:57.
God wants to heal everyone yet not everyone is healed.
When the Lord doesn’t heal you right away, it is possible that He will use this bad situation to bring you closer to Him; to focus on Him and not to focus on yourself in your sickness. “And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.” Romans 8:28

Try to discover the origin of your sickness:
Ask yourself: When did my sickness start? How long have I had it? Many people discover that their physical problems started when they were under stress for a long time or because they experienced a major trauma.
Do you blame God for all the sickness; for wars, poverty and suffering in the world?
Pain and suffering is our inheritance because of Adam’s sin. We live in a fallen world that is self-focused. Greed, power, lack of love and empathy results in suffering for those not in the inner circle of power. There is the unhealthy, genetically manipulated food we eat, the contaminated air we breathe and the polluted media of information that form our daily bread. We can also choose not to be healthy. We say: “Be satisfied now for we are going to die anyway.” I like the Dutch saying: “Evil punishes itself”  When you drink too much alcohol, you get a headache. If you jump of a building, you will suffer the consequences of your actions.  God has given us ‘free will’ we can’t keep blaming Him for the big mess we made in the world because of our wrong choices. Also, we cannot control all the circumstances and events in your life. They are the results of the free choices of other people. But we can control our reactions to the circumstances and events in our lives. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, [NOT FOR every situation] by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.  And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7
When we are spiritually sick because of sin, we give authority to evil to come into our soul, which can manifest itself as sickness in our body. Resentment towards God and others in our life is also an open door for evil to come in. Physical sickness can be the consequence of a bitter spirit or by letting ourselves be dominated by discouragement, bitterness or unforgiveness.
Here are some thoughts which can prevent us from being healed or from keeping our healing:
- I feel unworthy to be healed
- My faith is not strong enough
- God wants to teach me a lesson
- God wants to punish me for my past sins
- God wants me to accept my sickness and offer it up for lost souls.
“When we get rid of our personal doubt, we get our eyes off ourselves and on to Jesus. He is the healer. Healing happens because of who He is, not because of who we are. As we look to Him, healing begins to flow.”
It is good for Catholics to remember that all grace comes through the merits of Jesus Christ on the Cross. Maria, the saints and angels in heaven do not heal, Jesus is the only one who heals. Even Maria herself is not pleased if we try more or less to put her on the same level as her son, Jesus.
In Communion, when receiving the Body and Blood of Jesus, we should also receive healing. Jesus in the Eucharist brings healing to the body as well as to the soul.

Are you afraid of God? Do you fear that He will punish you if you do something wrong? Then, you are infected by the law, living under the rules of the Old Testament. Jesus died for all our sins – past, present and future. We now live under the New Covenant of his Blood that He shed for us. God our loving Father sees His Son Jesus standing before us; He sees us as His sons and daughters living in His Son Jesus, no longer living under the fear of His wrath and punishment.  “He himself bore our sins” in his Body on the Cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; by His wounds you have been healed.” 1 Peter 2:24
Everyone has their own image of who God is – mostly the wrong image. We are all taught, by the world we live in, that when we do wrong we will be punished.  God is a loving Father who wants us to be living in His heart. Jesus paid the price for our sins on the Cross and in Him we are free!!!  “So Christ has truly set us free. Now make sure that you stay free, and don't get tied up again in slavery to the law.” Galations 5:1

Here are the 4 types of bonds that can hold us back from keeping our healing:
Emotional bondage: Unforgiveness, fear, anxiety, stress, a trauma in your life, and manipulation from others. Unable to emotionally release a dead relative or friend.
Bondage from sin: Ungodly and unhealthy lifestyle.
Bondage of lies: Holding on to secrets and believing the lies of the enemy. (Deception)
Demonic bondage: Occult practices, winti, voodoo, white and black magic, unclean sexual bonds, pornography,  living under religious laws that create guilt and fear.
John 15:7  Jesus:“If you remain in Me and My words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.
John 5:7-9,14  Sir, the invalid replied, “I have no one to help me into the pool when the water is stirred. While I am trying to get in, someone else goes down ahead of me.”
Then Jesus said to him, “Get up! Pick up your mat and walk.”  At once the man was cured; he picked up his mat and walked.
Verse 14: Later Jesus found him at the temple and said to him, “See, you are well again. Stop sinning or something worse may happen to you.”
